What ages do you tutor?

I tutor children from 4 years to 13 years.

What subjects do you tutor?

For 1:1 online tuition, I teach Maths, Reading and Writing. After a conversation with you, the parent or caregiver, where we decide what the best course of action is and whether I'm the right fit, sessions can start.

How long are your sessions?

1:1 Online Tuition is 45 or 60 minutes depending on the age and needs of the child.

How often should my child have tuition?

I recommend once a week for learning to have time to be embedded before the next session and for your child to have time to go away and practise the skill or skills we've looked at in the session.

What are your prices?

Prices are displayed on the relevant pages. They are subject to change but notice will be given when any price increases do need to occur.

What equipment do I need for a session?

For all sessions you will need access to the internet plus a device with a screen. A tablet is the suggested smallest screen size.

1:1 Online Tuition - a pencil/pen, notepaper. Each student's session is individual, so I shall advise beforehand if I think you need anything else.

What if I can't make a session?

Please see my terms and conditions policy for up-to-date information on this.

Why should I choose online tuition over face-to-face tuition?

  • There is no travel time and costs associated with that for either party.
  • Parents don't need to arrange drop offs and pick ups.
  • Children are learning in their own environment, which feels safe and familiar.
  • We can use online games and interactive resources to bring on your child's learning.
  • Lessons are less likely to be cancelled due to illness, travel or weather.
  • Parents can see what their child is learning by staying in the room. Often with face-to-face tuition, the parents will leave.

Online tuition is flexible, convenient, and engaging. Children learn in the comfort of home while accessing high-quality teaching and interactive resources. Parents save time, and children gain consistency.

How Do I Book A 1:1 Tutoring Session For My Child?

Email: rebecca@hawthorntuition.co.uk to enquire about availability and to book a 15-20 minute free appointment where we can discuss your child's needs and whether we can work together.

We can then arrange a time for regular tutoring sessions. These are available once a week at the same time on Thursdays and Fridays during the daytime.

How Do I Pay?

Payment is always in advance of the lessons. For the first session, I take payment as a one-off as this is a trial to see whether tutoring with me is right for your child.

After that, payment will be one month of classes in advance.

Please see my terms and conditions for my cancellation policy.
