1. Payment

  • Payment must be made in advance, at least 24 hours before a session, for the session to go ahead.
  • For 1:1 tuition, the first session is a full price trial. I take full payment in advance for only one lesson.
  • After the first lesson, payment is monthly in advance via bank transfer.
  • Fees are non-refundable.
  • If payment is not received, Rebecca cannot guarantee that your time slot will still be available.

2. Refunds and Cancellation

  • Rebecca does not offer refunds for sessions for any reason.
  • Rebecca allows one cancellation per term (September-December, January-April, May-August). Please provide as much notice as possible. The cost of the cancelled lesson will be credited onto the next payment cycle.
  • If you wish to end lessons, please let Rebecca know before the next payment cycle. You will then receive confirmation that your lessons will end.
  • If Rebecca is unable to attend for any reason. She will give as much notice as possible for this.

3. Cancelled Lessons

  • If Rebecca has to cancel any lessons (for example due to illness), parents will not be charged for that lesson. If another suitable time cannot be found during that week, then a credit will be given on your account to be used against the next month's lessons.

4. Lateness

  • Sessions run at a set time. If you are late, this will shorten your child’s lesson as Rebecca cannot stay online beyond the scheduled time. No refunds or credits will be given for partial lessons.
  • For group sessions, lateness impacts other children’s learning. Please ensure your child arrives punctually and ready to learn.

5. Behaviour

For 1:1 Sessions

  • Please keep the microphone and camera on throughout the session. The child does not have to be on camera the whole time, but it is useful for Rebecca to see their work and hear their responses.
  • Dress appropriately, as if meeting in person.
  • Ensure your child has used the toilet, had a drink and snack before the session to avoid interruptions.
  • No eating during the session.
  • Encourage your child to interact and engage with Rebecca.
  • An adult should always remain within earshot of the session.
  • Have necessary equipment ready (e.g. paper, pencil, whiteboard, pen). Rebecca will inform you if other equipment is needed beforehand.
  • Avoid distractions such as TVs, tablets, or phones during the session.
  • Find a quiet location for tutoring.
  • If you child decides not to interact with the tuition session, payment will still be taken.

For Group Sessions

  • Keep the microphone muted unless asking a question or joining in with the discussions.
  • Any rude words or actions will result in the account being locked out of the session. No refund will be given.
  • Dress appropriately, as if meeting in person.
  • Ensure your child has used the toilet, had a drink and snack before the session.
  • No eating during the session.
  • Encourage your child to participate and engage positively.
  • An adult should always remain within earshot of the session.
  • Have necessary equipment ready (e.g. paper, pencil, whiteboard, pen). Rebecca will inform you of what is needed beforehand.
  • Avoid distractions such as TVs, tablets, or phones during the session.
  • Find a quiet location for tutoring.

6. Technical Difficulties

  • Set up your device at least 10 minutes before the session. Ensure it is charged or plugged in. Allow time to log into Zoom and enter the waiting room.
  • If there is a technical difficulty on your side, there will be no refund or credit. Rebecca will remain online for the duration of the session in case you are able to return, unless you email to confirm otherwise.
  • If Rebecca experiences a technical issue lasting more than 15 minutes, she will credit the entire lesson cost to the next month's payment cycle.

7. Resources

  • A device with a large screen is required. A tablet is the minimum screen size acceptable.
  • All children need paper and a pencil for each session. Rebecca will advise if additional resources are required.

8. Social Media Policy

  • Rebecca may take photos during sessions of activities being carried out. If you do not want your child included in photos, please inform Rebecca as soon as possible.
  • In group sessions, please do not take photos of other children without parental consent.

9. Other

  • Rebecca reserves the right to end sessions for any reason.

    By providing payment, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.
